Vinderne af den internationale konkurrence “Drawing of the Year” vil blive afsløret nu på torsdag d. 12. december.
Fra klokken 15.00 er der en enestående chance for at opleve forelæsninger af henholdsvis Peter Wilson og Peter Salter, som i kraft af deres rolle som jurymedlemmer i konkurrencen, begge er at finde på en sådan grå torsdag eftermiddag på Arkitektskolen Aarhus. Efterfølgende åbner udstillingen der uredigeret viser konkurrencens godt 125 indsendte tegninger fra ind- og udland.
Australian architect. Became one of the figurehead teachers of London’s legendary AA of the 1970’s and 1980’s. His evocative, nuanced drawings has been widely published. Since winning the competition for the Münster City Library the office of BOLLES+WILSON has operated from Germany, with projects including the Luxor Theatre Rotterdam, the Monteluce Quartier Perugia and currently the New National Library of Luxembourg.
Wilson was guest Professor at the Accademia di Architettura, Mendrisio CH, 2006-08. He was the recipient of the RAIA Presidents medal 2010 and the Gold Medal 2013, the AIA’s (Australian Institute of Architects) highest honour.
He has been a juror in many international competitions. Accompanying more than 50 built works has been a continual output of theoretical statements and critical writings.
Peter Salter was educated at the AA School of Architecture in London where he taught in both Intermediate and Diploma School for many years.. From 1995-2002 he was Professor of Architecture and Head of School at the University of East London. In recognition of his teaching achievements, he received the Annie Spink Award in 2004. Since 2006 he has been Professor of Architectural Design at the Welsh School of Architecture in Cardiff, and in 2012 was awarded an Honorary FRIBA.. Previously known for the two buildings completed in Japan in the early 1990s, he is currently working on a project for four houses that are being constructed in the Notting Hill Gate area of London and are due for completion early in 2014. An exhibition of the drawings and models produced for this project will be held at the AA in February 2014, together with a publication.
