At DAY LAB #3 Kulturværftet/Toldkammeret, Bureau Detours and Sprout Network invite you to a multidisciplinary workshop where you will explore enablers for a revitalized cultural community at Toldkammeret in Helsingør (Elsinor).
In the heart of Helsingør behind the old protected walls of the old Custum House, build in 1890, you find the former cultural center of the city, inhabited by e.g. a regional music venue, a Kids Culture Center, a café, Helsingør Theater and the Tourist Information. But beside from the many activities that Toldkammeret has to offer the citizens of Helsingør the ambitions for the historic building is still not met. Toldkammeret wish to be a place for unlikely and spontaneous social meetings. But how can the old building facilitate a strong sense of community building? How can a community rise and grow within the old walls? And how can the history of a building come into play when it comes to create interaction between guests and users?
These questions will be addressed when we invite you to our third Sprout Day Lab in Helsingør on October 8 from 10 AM – 8 PM.
